Newport News Shipbuilding, a division of Huntington Ingalls Industries, is seeking a Foreman to supervise semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel, assign work, and evaluate performance on multiple shifts.

You will train staff, ensure compliance with drawings and procedures, and oversee manufacturing, installation, testing, and process operations with a focus on quality and cost control. A $5,000 sign-on bonus is offered for qualifying new hires.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree OR
• Apprentice Certification OR
• High School and 4 years combined manufacturing, shipbuilding, trades, military experience OR
• Associate Degree in a Trade/Technical and 3 years of relevant manufacturing, shipbuilding, trade and/or military experience

Responsabilités

• Supervises, assigns, coordinates and evaluates semi-skilled and skilled trades personnel according to their skill, experience and job knowledge.
• Supervises and trains employees to improve quality and quantity of work performed.
• Recommends training to enhance skill and productivity and assists in development of training procedures.
• Breaks broad strategies down to practical action plans and ensures employees are trained to perform these plans.
• Responsible for complying with all technical aspects of the job including adherence to drawings, procedures, etc.
• Oversees manufacturing, installation, operation, testing, and process operations with significant financial impact on company performance.
• Supervises qualified trades staff; monitoring job and budget performance for all shifts.

Bachelor's Degree

Apprentice Certification
