Job summary
Lydech Thermal Acoustical Inc. seeks a hands-on Tool & Die Engineer to provide technical direction to tooling teams and support Operations in a metal stamping environment, driving continuous improvement and reducing scrap.
You will participate in design reviews, justify capital equipment, develop new tooling processes, and lead troubleshooting of die tooling, with emphasis on crash form, draw die, and progressive/transfer concepts.
Qualifications
- 4 year technical degree (Tool and Die) or equivalent experience.
- 3-5 years minimum experience in metal stamping.
- Crash form, draw die, and progressive/transfer design and development.
- Hands-on troubleshooting of die tooling.
- Critique die designs for production worthiness and maintainability.
- Experience with high tonnage metal stamping presses (mechanical and hydraulic).
- Automotive manufacturing environment experience.
- Proficient in MS Office and CAD software.
Responsibilities
- Drive continuous improvement in value streams and reduce scrap.
- Participate in tool design reviews and support product launches.
- Justify capital equipment purchases and standardize tooling.
- Develop new tool designs and manage process development, setup, and training.
- Support APQP, DFMEA, and PPAP activities as required.
- Prioritize tooling improvements and repairs.
- Participate in Lean Six Sigma programs and continuous improvement.
- Adhere to company policies and safety rules.
