Job summary

Lydech Thermal Acoustical Inc. is seeking a hands-on Tool & Die Engineer to provide technical direction to tooling teams and support operations in North Carolina.

You will drive continuous improvement, participate in design reviews, justify capital equipment, and support APQP, DFMEA and PPAP activities. Responsibilities include troubleshooting die tooling, reducing scrap, and achieving OEE improvements through Lean and Six Sigma methods.

Qualifications

• 4 year technical degree (Tool and Die) or equivalent journeyman experience.
• 10 years minimum experience in metal stamping.
• Expertise in crash form, draw die, and progressive/transfer design.
• Hands-on troubleshooting of die tooling.
• Critique die designs for producibility and maintainability.
• Strong experience with high tonnage metal stamping presses (mechanical and hydraulic).

Responsibilities

• Drive continuous improvement via Lean and Six Sigma to reduce scrap and downtime.
• Participate in tool design reviews and support product launches into manufacturing.
• Manage capital equipment justification and standardization of equipment within manufacturing methods and safety requirements.
• Support APQP, DFMEA, PPAP activities as required.
• Prioritize tooling improvements and repairs.
