Job summary

Hire Up Recruiting's client in Merrillville, IN is seeking a caring, energetic Lead Toddler Teacher to work with 2- to 3-year-olds in a premier preschool. This is a full-time, year-round direct hire position in a nurturing environment.

The ideal candidate holds an Associate's or Bachelor's degree in Early Childhood Education or a related field with at least one year of licensed ECE experience. Must lift up to 35 lbs and pass a background check. Salary is $14–$15/hour with strong benefits.

Qualifications

• REQUIRED Education: Associate's degree or Bachelor's in Early Childhood Education, Elementary Education, Child Development, or related field.
• REQUIRED Experience: One year of experience in a licensed Early Childhood Education facility.
• Must be able to lift up to 35 lbs for child handling; assist with infants as needed.
• Must meet background check eligibility.

Responsibilities

• Provide a safe and nurturing environment for children.
• Plan and implement age-appropriate activities and curriculum; maintain educational portfolios.
• Supervise and engage children in educational and play activities.
• Maintain a clean and organized classroom.
• Monitor and ensure the well-being of each child in your care.
• Communicate with parents about progress and concerns.
• Collaborate with other teachers and staff to create a positive learning environment.
• Participate in training sessions, workshops, and staff meetings to stay current on best practices.

Education

Associate's degree in Early Childhood Education
