Job summary

Stantec is seeking a Project Manager for the Energy & Resources line to lead multi-discipline teams on thermal generation projects in North America. The role covers Owner’s Engineer or Detailed Engineering/Design services for simple cycle, combined cycle, or repowering projects.

The PM will drive client satisfaction, manage risks, and lead business development as a seller-doer. Requires travel to US/Canada offices and a strong PM background.

Qualifications

• B.S. in Electrical, Mechanical, or Civil Engineering (or related).
• Minimum 15 years on power generation projects, Owner’s Engineer and/or D/E design.
• Minimum 5 years in business development or as a “seller-doer”.
• Professional Engineer registration preferred but not required.

Responsibilities

• Provide project management expertise to the team.
• Manage energy projects/programs.
• Support and contribute to PM best practices and methodology.
• Coordinate with leadership, leads, and clients across multi-discipline teams.
• Align project execution with leadership; ensure consistency.
• Coach staff and contribute to client relationship management.
• Monitor resources, schedule, budget, and quality; practice discipline.
• Identify and resolve gaps with leadership.
• Capture lessons learned and develop improvement actions.
• Support leadership in resource management and coaching PMs.
• Lead or support proposals as needed.
• Mentor junior staff; achieve annual utilization targets.
