Job summary

The Home for Little Wanderers Inc in Massachusetts seeks a Milieu Director to lead therapeutic milieu programming at the COVE School, supervise Behavior Support Staff, and ensure safety and trauma-informed care for residents.

You will train staff, participate in hiring, develop procedures, coordinate activities, and respond to emergencies, incident reporting, and family communications while partnering with senior leaders to uphold the agency’s values and mission.

Qualifications

• Equivalent to bachelor’s degree
• 4+ years direct childcare experience in a residential setting
• 2-3 years supervisory experience
• Computer literacy with Microsoft Office and willingness to learn new software

Responsibilities

• Provide individual supervision for Behavior Support Staff and School Campus Coordinator
• Train and evaluate staff performance; document supervisions
• Participate in hiring for Behavior Support Staff and School Campus Coordinator
• Draft and revise program procedures; monitor policy implementation
• Ensure safety and therapeutic living spaces for residents
• Provide direct therapeutic care and crisis intervention as needed
• Plan and coordinate group activities and staff training
• Manage incident reports and communications with parents/guardians
• Respond to emergencies; lead staff through apprenticeship model
• Chairs safety, treatment, and leadership committee meetings
• Collaborate with departments to integrate services across disciplines
• Prepare Monthly Reports and coordinate dormitory operations
