Job summary

Republic Services in Mississippi seeks a Maintenance Lead Technician to direct a team of technicians responsible for the repair and maintenance of heavy trucks and refuse equipment. You will ensure work complies with safety standards and state and federal regulations while coordinating repairs on chassis, hydraulics, brakes, and electrical systems.

The role includes coaching on diagnostics, planning schedules to minimize downtime, and mentoring junior technicians.

Qualifications

At least 3 years working on heavy‑duty trucks with applicable safety regulations.
OSHA Haz Com, Lock Out Tag Out, and fire protection familiarity is a plus.
1 year supervisory or lead technician experience is a plus.
ASE Heavy Truck Certifications (T1-T8) are a plus.
Class B or higher CDL is a plus; a valid driver's license is required.

Responsibilities

Direct a group of technicians to perform repairs safely and efficiently.
Inspect third‑party repairs for safety and compliance with procedures.
Diagnose complex issues using electronic tools and plan repairs to minimize downtime.
Mentor technicians and provide coaching on diagnostic techniques.
Perform line welding and fabrication as needed.
