Job description

Join to apply for the Lead Technician role at Transdev North America in Irvine, CA.

The Lead Technician will supervise and coordinate the activities of our technician team, ensuring the timely and efficient diagnosis, maintenance, and repair of vehicles and equipment. The ideal candidate has a strong technical background, excellent leadership abilities, and a passion for delivering exceptional service.

Pay: $37.11 per hour, subject to collective bargaining agreement.

Key Responsibilities
  • Coordinate and prioritize the workload of the technician team, assigning tasks and ensuring completion in a timely manner.
  • Utilize advanced diagnostic tools and techniques to identify and troubleshoot complex mechanical and electrical issues.
  • Manage inventory levels of parts and supplies, ensuring adequate stock and minimizing waste.
  • Perform preventive maintenance, inspections, and repairs on diesel engines, transmissions, brakes, and other components.
  • Coach and monitor team members.
  • Other duties as required.
Qualifications
  • Minimum 3 years of experience as an automotive or diesel technician, with proficiency in diagnosing and repairing engines and related systems.
  • Must possess a mechanic's tool set.
  • Strong computer skills.
  • Strong leadership and supervisory skills, ability to effectively manage and motivate a team.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment with high attention to detail.
  • Willingness to obtain ASE certifications while employed (company training, testing, and bonuses provided).
  • Subject to DOT drug testing and physical if applicable.
Physical Requirements
  • Must be able to work shifts or flexible work schedules as needed.
  • Employee may spend long periods sitting, typing, or looking at a computer screen.
  • Work environment will be a combination of indoors and outdoors.
