Job summary

Symbotic seeks a Technical Control Engineer to ensure the smooth operation of automated systems at client sites. You will balance reactive support with proactive monitoring, incident ownership, and continuous improvement.

This role partners with Engineering, R&D, Implementation, and Customer Operations to transition new sites from Hypercare to steady‑state support, ensuring operational excellence and long‑term system reliability. Up to 15% travel may be required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical/controls/automation engineering or related field; hands-on experience acceptable.
• Minimum 2 years in technical support, controls, or engineering supporting complex systems.
• Experience in automation, robotics, warehousing, or supply chain environments preferred.
• Strong remote system support experience (Remote Desktop, SSH).
• Solid TCP/IP networking knowledge and troubleshooting skills.
• Proficiency with Linux shells and scripting; basic SQL scripting.

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve complex technical support requests via tickets, phone, email, and chat.
• Provide advanced remote support for electro‑mechanical, software, networking and controls issues.
• Troubleshoot automation, PLCs, motors, drives, and motion control systems.
• Serve as escalation point and focal lead during major incidents.
• Coordinate cross‑functional resources to restore service quickly.
• Drive root cause analysis and preventative actions to reduce MTTR.
• Participate in post‑incident reviews and knowledge base improvement.
