Job summary

Symbotic LLC is seeking a Technical Control Engineer to ensure the reliable operation of automated systems at client sites. You will troubleshoot complex issues, lead during major incidents, and drive proactive improvements with Engineering, R&D, Implementation, and Customer Operations.

The role requires hands-on automation expertise, strong networking and scripting skills, and a willingness to travel to client locations up to 15%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, controls engineering, automation engineering or related field preferred; equivalent hands-on experience may be considered.
• Minimum 2 years of experience in technical support, controls, or engineering roles supporting complex systems.
• Experience in automation, robotics, warehouse, or supply chain environments preferred.
• Strong understanding of TCP/IP networking and troubleshooting; familiarity with network analysis tools.
• Proficiency with Linux shell environments and scripting; working knowledge of SQL scripting and application support.
• Experience with motion control systems (servos, VFDs) and Allen Bradley ControlLogix; Ladder Logic and related programming languages.

Responsibilities

• Manage and resolve complex technical support requests from end users via ticketing systems, phone, email, and chat.
• Provide advanced remote support for electro-mechanical, software, networking, and controls-related issues using remote access tools.
• Troubleshoot and resolve issues related to automation and robotic systems PLCs, motors, VFDs, and motion control.
• Serve as a technical escalation point and act as the focal lead during major incidents.
• Coordinate cross-functional resources to restore service efficiently.
• Provide clear, timely updates to stakeholders during incidents.
• Proactively monitor system performance metrics, logs, and trends to identify potential failures.
