Job summary

E Tech Group, a leader in automation and control system integration, seeks a Senior Principal Controls Engineer to guide design, delivery, and technical governance across multi-discipline projects.

You will mentor teams, drive innovative solutions, and ensure alignment with client requirements while supporting business development efforts. Remote role with 2-hour Plano, TX commute requirement and 30–40% travel.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or related field.
• 8+ years of progressive engineering experience in automation, controls, or system integration.
• Strong expertise across major automation platforms (AB, Siemens, Schneider, Wonderware, Ignition).
• Solid knowledge of industrial comms, networking, and system architecture.
• Experience delivering complex, multi-discipline integration projects.
• Excellent problem-solving, analytical, and troubleshooting skills.
• Willingness to travel 30–40% domestically.

Responsibilities

• Lead design and architecture of advanced automation, control, and system integration solutions.
• Serve as SME across Building Design, Panel Design, Instrumentation, PLC, HMI, SCADA, MES, Historians, Networks, and VFDs.
• Provide hands-on engineering support for design, programming, testing, and commissioning of projects.
• Collaborate with project managers to define scope, requirements, and resources.
• Mentor engineers and staff, promoting knowledge sharing and growth.
• Conduct design reviews and troubleshoot complex issues per engineering standards.
