Job summary

ServiceMaster Restore is seeking an experienced Lead Restoration Technician / Crew Chief to oversee field mitigation projects and lead restoration teams in accordance with IICRC standards. You will supervise daily operations, ensure quality, safety, and compliance on the job with a focus on thorough moisture management and documentation.

Responsibilities

• Lead water damage restoration on job sites.
• Direct daily jobsite operations and coordinate teams.
• Perform and verify moisture inspections, mapping, and psychrometric calculations.
• Determine drying, cleaning, containment, and deodorization strategies with Project Management.
• Set up and monitor drying equipment and ensure safety protocols.
• Oversee demolition and removal per scope and SOPs.
• Document moisture readings, equipment placement, and progress in restoration software.
• Communicate professionally with customers, adjusters, and internal teams.
• Assist in training and evaluating technicians of all skill levels.

Lead Restoration Technician / Crew Chief with strong IICRC alignment to oversee field mitigation projects and lead restoration teams in accordance with
IICRC.

This role is ideal for a technically skilled restoration professional who understands drying science, leads from the front, and holds teams accountable for quality and compliance.

Key Responsibilities

• Lead water damage restoration
• Direct daily jobsite operations
• Perform and verify moisture inspections, moisture mapping, and psychrometric calculations
• Determine appropriate drying, cleaning, containment, and deodorization strategies in coordination with Project Management
• Set up, monitor, and adjust drying, filtration, and air scrubber equipment
• Oversee controlled demolition and removal per approved scope
• Enforce PPE usage, containment, and cross-contamination control
• Conduct quality control inspections to ensure compliance with IICRC standards and company SOPs
• Document moisture readings, equipment placement, job progress, and photos using restoration software
• Communicate professionally with customers, adjusters, and internal teams
• Assist in training, mentoring, and evaluating technicians at all skill levels

Required Qualifications

• 1-3 years experience in restoration, mitigation, or disaster recovery
• Demonstrated leadership or crew lead experience
• Valid driver’s license with acceptable driving record
• Ability to lift 50+ lbs and work in physically demanding environments
• Availability for emergency response and on-call rotation

Preferred Qualifications

• IICRC WRT required; ASD or additional certifications strongly preferred
• Strong understanding of drying science, psychrometrics, and material behavior
• Experience with insurance-driven restoration and adjuster coordination
• Proficiency in restoration documentation and job management software
• Experience assisting with job scoping, supplements, and scope validation
