Job summary

The Learning Experience in Wayne, NJ is seeking a passionate Lead Teacher for our early childhood program. This role leads a classroom, mentors assistants, and ensures a nurturing, safe environment where children learn through play and guided activities.

You will implement the LEAP Curriculum, observe progress, and partner with families and leadership to support each child’s growth and development. Competitive hourly compensation and growth opportunities are offered.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or GED required.
• Experience in licensed childcare or early childhood setting preferred.
• Prior classroom leadership experience strongly preferred.

Responsibilities

• Take ownership of daily classroom operations, ensuring a safe, organized, welcoming, and engaging learning environment.
• Provide direction, guidance, and support to Assistant Teachers and other classroom staff.
• Delegate responsibilities appropriately while maintaining accountability for classroom routines, organization, and expectations.
• Model positive interactions, professionalism, and developmentally appropriate teaching practices.
• Establish consistent classroom routines, expectations, and transitions that support a positive learning environment.
