Job summary

A Child's Place of Antioch is a licensed childcare center in Antioch, IL, seeking Lead Teachers for Preschool age groups. Applicants must have 6 ECE credits or a current CDA and be able to pass background checks.

Full-time, 4/10s schedule (10-hour days, four days per week) with a pay range of $19.25–$20 per hour, based on education and experience. We offer competitive pay, paid trainings, a generous benefits package including dental, medical, and vision, and a 401k with match.

Responsibilities

• Prepare developmentally appropriate lesson plans a week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement weekly lesson plans across all areas of child development and follow classroom schedule.
• Build professional rapport with families to provide quality care.
• Ensure safety and well-being of children and maintain a clean, organized classroom.
• Maintain child assessments and portfolios; conduct parent/teacher conferences in November and May.
• Able to lift up to 40 lbs and perform physical duties of the role.
• Carry out daily classroom responsibilities related to child care.

Preschool

To be QUALIFIED for this position, we require Lead Qualification (6 ECE college credits OR current CDA)and the ability to pass all background checks.

Required Shift: Monday - Friday, Full-time, 4/10s (10 hour days, 4 days per week)

Compensation: $19.25 - $20/hour, based on education and experience

Main Job Responsibilities

• Prepare lesson plans that are developmentally appropriate one week in advance using current curriculum guides.
• Implement lesson plans/curriculum on a weekly basis covering all areas of child development and carry out lesson plans according to classroom schedule/daily routine; Use our parent communication app efficiently.
• Establish a professional level of rapport with each family to provide quality care for the children.
• Responsible for the safety and well-being of each child, responding to their emotional needs; and maintaining an organized, clean, safe, and appropriately decorated classroom.
• Maintain a child assessment and portfolio for each child, as well as conduct biannual parent/teacher conferences during the month of November and May.
• Physical ability to work around small children including sitting, standing, walking, running, and climbing stairs.
• Ability to lift and carry up to 40 lbs. and fulfill all physical requirements of the role.
• Carry out the daily responsibilities of the classroom relating to the care of the children.
