Job summary

Peraton is seeking a Lead Systems Engineer to direct engineering direction, system architecture, and baseline ownership across a space-ground program. You will lead efforts for design, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment of satellite ground systems and SOCs in a secure, high-tempo environment.

You will ensure SEMPs, RMF/ATO processes, and configuration management are upheld while coordinating with Government stakeholders and mission partners.

Qualifications

• Top-Secret/SCI clearance required and must be maintained.
• Bachelor's degree in a relevant STEM or management field with extensive space/ground systems experience.
• Experience leading system architecture, CONOPS development, and multi-contractor integration.
• Experience with requirements management, integration and test, verification and validation, and cybersecurity-driven engineering.
• Strong communication, collaboration, documentation, and technical leadership skills.

Responsibilities

• Lead systems engineering activities including requirements development, CONOPS refinement, system architecture, interface control, verification and validation planning, and technical milestone execution.
• Develop, maintain, and enforce the Systems Engineering Management Plan (SEMP) with configuration management and risk management.
• Provide technical leadership for ground system design, development, integration, testing, deployment, and sustainment.
• Oversee engineering support to satellite operations centers (SOCs) and mission software integration.
• Identify system-level risks and drive root-cause analysis and corrective actions.
• Coordinate with Government stakeholders and mission partners to support integrated technical execution.
