Job summary

Peraton is seeking a deeply technical Lead Engineer to act as the technical authority for an Operations & Maintenance program supporting SATCOM infrastructure and global mobility communications.

You will own the engineering lifecycle across gateway systems, BIWF, and enterprise services, ensuring 99.9% uptime while guiding modernization and cyber compliance. This role requires TS/SCI and senior leadership across teams.

Qualifications

• TS/SCI clearance required; contract requires TS/SCI
• Bachelor's degree and 12+ years in systems/network/software engineering or systems integration; 10+ years with Masters
• 10+ years supporting DoD SATCOM, LEO/MEO/GEO or global comms infra
• 10+ years in senior/lead roles in mission-critical environments
• IAM Level III certification (CISSP, CASP+, CISM, or equivalent)
• Strong DoD cybersecurity framework experience (RMF, STIG, IAVA, ACAS, HBSS, SCAP, POA&M)

Responsibilities

• Owns the full engineering lifecycle across SATCOM gateway systems and BIWF
• Ensures interoperability, redundancy, and 99.9% uptime across all systems
• Lead cybersecurity compliance including RMF, STIG, IAVA, and POA&M
• Oversee configuration management and governance of the CCB for hardware, firmware, software
• Oversee system upgrades, regression testing, root cause analysis, and lifecycle sustainment
• Drive integration of monitoring tools (e.g., Nagios, ScienceLogic) and internal tooling
• Evaluate and integrate MSS/LEO technologies; develop technology insertion roadmaps
• Maintain BIWF lab continuity and support distributed engineering teams
