Viable Engineering Solutions seeks a Systems Engineer to lead technical coordination of complex industrial automation projects in Orlando. You will bridge software, robotics, electrical, mechanical, and manufacturing disciplines to ensure fully integrated, tested systems.

The role defines system requirements, coordinates with engineering teams, manages third-party vendors, and delivers cohesive solutions across subsystems. Strong communication and leadership are essential.

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent in a related engineering field.
10+ years in engineering, automation, manufacturing, robotics, or integration.
Experience with complex industrial automation systems and equipment.
Strong understanding of robotic automation, CNC, industrial controls, and processes.
Ability to communicate across software, mechanical, electrical, and controls teams.
Experience defining technical requirements and managing vendor deliverables.
Experience creating specifications, statements of work, and technical docs.
Familiarity with industrial robotics platforms such as Fanuc, ABB, KUKA, Yaskawa.
Understanding of PLCs, HMIs, networks, motion control, and safety.
Knowledge of machining, grinding, welding, assembly, inspection, and handling.

Responsibilities

Act as technical lead for system architecture and integration across disciplines.
Define system requirements, interfaces, and acceptance criteria for automation projects.
Translate customer needs into clear internal and vendor technical requirements.
Develop technical packages, statements of work, and supplier specs.
Coordinate and hold vendors accountable for tech, schedule, performance, and quality.
Evaluate proposals, designs, and deliverables from suppliers and integrators.
Ensure integration between robots, CNCs, PLCs, HMIs, motion systems, vision, and sensors.
Collaborate with software, robotics, controls, and mechanical engineers throughout projects.
Identify and mitigate technical risks in system integration and performance.
Support commissioning, FAT, SAT, and customer installations.
Review test plans and validation results to ensure performance and reliability.
Lead troubleshooting and root-cause analysis efforts.
Develop and maintain system documentation and operating procedures.
