Job summary

Viable Engineering Solutions is seeking a Test Engineer in Orlando to validate performance, reliability, safety, and functionality of complex automation systems. You will develop comprehensive test plans, execute system-level testing, document results, and identify issues before equipment is delivered.

The ideal candidate has experience with automated manufacturing equipment, robotics, motion systems, sensors, and industrial controls, and will advocate for system quality to ensure equipment

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in a related technical field is required.
• Experience testing industrial automation equipment or manufacturing systems.
• Ability to develop structured test plans, test cases, and validation procedures.
• Strong troubleshooting across mechanical, electrical, controls, and software disciplines.
• Familiarity with industrial robots, PLCs, HMIs, and motion control systems.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain detailed test plans, procedures, and validation checklists for custom automation systems.
• Execute functional, performance, safety, and reliability testing on complex industrial equipment.
• Validate automated systems including robotics, conveyors, and vision systems.
• Verify proper operation of PLCs, HMIs, sensors, safety circuits, servo systems, and industrial networks.
• Perform FAT and support SAT activities.
• Identify, document, track, and verify resolution of hardware, software, electrical, mechanical, and process-related issues.
• Work with software, controls, robotics, electrical, and mechanical teams to troubleshoot defects.
• Generate detailed test reports, issue logs, and validation documentation.
• Ensure systems meet customer specifications and safety requirements before shipment.
• Assist with root cause analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
• Validate robotic system functionality, including motion sequences and path repeatability.
