Job summary

RTX's Effectors Center in Tucson, AZ is seeking a Principal Systems Engineer to join the Javelin program and lead a multi-disciplinary team responsible for system design, integration, and test.

You will own decisions across hardware and software design, coordinate with JJV/JPO leadership, mentor team members, and drive risk management, cost, and schedule.

This onsite role requires strong leadership, DoD clearance readiness, and travel up to 10%.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's in Science, Technology, Engineering, or Mathematics (STEM) required.
• Minimum eight years of relevant experience in a systems engineering context.
• Experience across the product lifecycle and in system integration.

Responsibilities

• Lead a multi-disciplinary engineering team in system design, architecture, reliability, safety, and test.
• Collaborate with JJV and JPO, and other US Government stakeholders.
• Direct accountability for Systems Engineering and Whole Life Engineering functions.
• Coordinate with CE, OCE, LSE to meet requirements and performance targets.
• Provide daily task leadership and prioritize work for the team.
• Mentor team members and engage SMEs.
• Identify risks and opportunities and report them to management.
• Support cost and schedule management and BOE writing for future work.
