Job summary

Ayar Labs, Inc. is hiring for a Validation Engineer to own product validation across silicon photonics and optoelectronic systems in an on-site San Jose setting. You will define test plans, select equipment, and collaborate with Design and Reliability teams to ensure successful mass production.

Strong automation and data skills are essential. Ideal candidates bring 5+ years in test engineering, experience with BERT/DCA/OSA, and a background in high-speed SerDes.

Qualifications

• Bachelors in Electrical Engineering or equivalent is required.
• 5+ years of experience with test equipment and signal quality metrics (TDECQ, SRS, URS).
• 5+ years of programming experience for test automation and data analysis (Python, etc.).
• Knowledge of Ethernet, PCIe or similar protocols.

Responsibilities

• Define and implement validation methodologies ensuring component and system-level requirements are met.
• Lead New Product Introduction with Design, Package, and Reliability teams for mass production readiness.
• Drive product bring-up and troubleshoot silicon photonic and laser products.
• Validate performance via electrical and optical characterization of chips and systems.
• Collaborate on design trade-offs and specifications to meet time-to-market goals.
• Develop test software and hardware stations to enable efficient validation.
• Manage project schedules to deliver high-quality products on time.
