The role leads a team of System Safety engineers to develop, manage, and execute System Safety Programs in accordance with military and/or commercial standards, and to act as primary contact for System Safety activities on assigned platforms and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's/Master's/PhD in engineering or related technical discipline; progressive engineering experience: 6+ years with a bachelor's, 4+ with a master's, or 2+ with a PhD.
• Familiarity with Unmanned Aircraft Systems (UAS) and Ground Control Systems is desirable.
• Strong communication, documentation, presentation, and interpersonal skills; ability to work independently and in a team.
• Ability to obtain and maintain DoD security clearance.

Responsibilities

• Lead a team of System Safety engineers on UAS programs and contracts.
• Develop, manage, and execute System Safety Programs per military/commercial standards.
• Act as primary System Safety technical contact for assigned platforms and contracts.
• Devise new approaches to resolve unusual or complex engineering problems.
• Communicate system safety findings, issues, and solutions to stakeholders.
• Provide system safety support for design assurance processes and milestones (PDRs/CDRs).
• Troubleshoot conflicting requirements and material coordination issues.
• Participate in proposals, basis of estimates, and specifications preparation.
• Contribute to planning and development of technical talent within the team.
• Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with safety standards.
