Job summary

General Atomics Aeronautical Systems, Inc. (GA-ASI) seeks a senior Systems Engineer to lead the Systems Engineering team across programs, shaping objectives, plans, and artifact development from CONOPS to RAM and safety analyses.

Qualifications

• Typically requires a bachelor’s, master’s or PhD in engineering or a related technical discipline from an accredited institution and progressive engineering experience as follows; twelve or more years of experience with a bachelor’s, ten or more with a master’s, or seven or more with a PhD.
• Must have prior experience in DoD aerospace, unmanned air vehicle, and aircraft design.
• Prior experience as an IPT lead or technical lead strongly desired.
• Familiarity with Cameo, Magic Draw, JAMA, Atlassian (JIRA, Confluence).
• Strong communication, presentation, and interpersonal skills enabling leadership interfaces with all levels.

Responsibilities

• Accountable for technical, cost, and schedule execution of the program’s Systems Engineering team.
• Provide technical oversight and direction of the SE team for assigned program.
• Collaborate with SE leadership to ensure consistent SE practices across programs.
• Mentor junior engineers with SE practices and drive continuous improvement in processes.
• Lead development of SE work products: CONOPS, System Architecture, Requirements & Interfaces, RAM, safety, cybersecurity artifacts.
• Support internal development and new business opportunities.
