Qualifications

• Typically requires a STEM degree and a minimum of 5 years of relevant experience.
• Experience with System Safety Engineering, Systems Engineering, Software or Firmware Engineering, Electrical Engineering or equivalent Safety Engineering.
• Experience writing technical reports and presentations.

Responsibilities

• Develop and implement MIL-STD-882E compliant system safety programs and perform analyses and planning.
• Conduct hazard and design analyses to ensure compliance with system requirements and standards.
• Collaborate with customer safety representatives to clarify requirements and allocate activities across software, hardware and test personnel.
• Coordinate with Safety Review Board authorities to gain safety approval and manage System Safety Working Groups.
• Work across engineering disciplines to eliminate hazards or implement effective controls and understand product architecture.
