Job summary

SSMC is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead field surveying activities, maintain equipment, and supervise 2–4 person crews. You will perform surveys across roadway, bridge, and flood control projects, ensuring accuracy and adherence to client requirements.

Strong leadership and safety focus are essential for on-site success. Responsibilities include preparing field notes, coordinating tasks, and delivering progress reports to the Project Manager.

Qualifications

• A high school diploma or equivalent is required; an associate's degree in a related field is preferred.
• Minimum of 3 years of survey experience as Rodman, Instrument Man, or equivalent role.
• Must obtain necessary badges and certifications to enter sites and perform work (i.e., MOT, School badges, Duke Energy, CSX, DOD, etc.).

Responsibilities

• Lead field surveying activities and maintain survey equipment.
• Manage 2–4 person field crews for maximum production.
• Prepare field notes and drawings; perform field surveying for roadway, bridges, and flood control projects.
