Job summary

SSMC in Panama City, FL seeks a Survey Crew Chief to direct field surveying teams and operate survey instruments on roadway, bridge, and flood control projects. You will set up, adjust, and use total stations, data collectors, and GPS, record field notes, and prepare drawings while following project requirements.

You will train crew members, manage documentation, coordinate with the Project Manager, and ensure safety protocols.

Qualifications

• Minimum 3 years of survey experience as Rodman, Instrument Man, or equivalent role.
• Must obtain necessary badges and certifications to enter sites and perform work.

Responsibilities

• Direct field surveying activities and manage 2–4 person field teams.
• Operate surveying equipment and prepare field notes and drawings.
• Establish vertical/horizontal control, right of way, monuments, and property lines.
• Report progress to the Project Manager and ensure safety protocols.
