Job summary

SSMC in Pensacola, FL is seeking a Survey Crew Chief to lead field surveying teams on roadway, bridge, and flood-control projects. You will set up and operate total stations and GPS, prepare field notes and drawings, and ensure safety and accuracy while coordinating 2–4 crew members. Travel to remote sites and overtime may be required.

Qualifications

• Must have a high school diploma or equivalent; associate degree is preferred.
• Experience as Rodman or Instrument Person is required.
• Badges/certifications to enter sites (MOT, DOD, etc.) must be obtainable.

Responsibilities

• Lead field surveying activities and manage 2–4 crew members.
• Set up, adjust, and operate surveying instruments (Total station, GPS).
• Prepare field notes and drawings for road, bridge, and flood-control projects.
• Research maps, deeds, CCRs, and project control documentation.
• Report daily progress to the Project Manager and maintain safety standards.
