Qualifications

• Graduate of structured operating room program or comparable education.
• 2 years Surgical technologist experience.
• Certified Surgical Technologist - AST preferred.

Responsibilities

• Hands instruments and supplies to surgeon, holds retractors, cuts sutures, and performs tasks as directed by surgeon during the operation.
• Assists team members to place and position patient on OR table and gowning.
• Performs appropriate counts with the RN Circulator prior to the operation and before incision closure.
• Cleans and prepares instruments for transport to decontamination and scrubs, gowns, and gloves.
• Helps in draping the sterile field and handles specimens with care.
