Job summary

MPI is seeking a Lead Superintendent to oversee large, ground-up multi-family, mixed-use, and commercial construction projects. The role requires extensive field leadership, coordination of subcontractors, and strong PM skills to deliver projects on time and within budget.

You will lead a team, enforce safety, and drive project success on site, with a focus on quality and client satisfaction across high-value Richmond-area projects.

Qualifications

• Progressive experience managing ground-up multi-family, mixed-use, and/or commercial projects.
• Mentoring teams and fostering a positive jobsite culture.
• Strong knowledge of PM, estimating, scheduling, budgeting, cost control, and financial reporting.
• Excellent organizational, communication, problem-solving, and decision-making skills.
• Ability to interpret construction drawings, specifications, and contract documents.
• Experience managing client, subcontractor, and vendor relationships; resolving challenges.
• OSHA 30 certification; CCM, PMP, LEED, or related certifications preferred.

Responsibilities

• Lead and manage the site team from project startup through closeout; primary contact for owner and stakeholders.
• Ensure the project team understands contract requirements, scope, and objectives.
• Develop and monitor the project schedule to optimize sequencing and subcontractor productivity.
• Oversee the Quality Control Program to ensure compliance with documents and standards.
• Manage subcontractor and vendor agreements; review invoices and pay applications; ensure timely payments.
• Promote a safe jobsite by enforcing safety policies and procedures.
• Provide leadership and mentorship for field staff and foster collaboration.
• Represent the company with professionalism, accountability, and integrity.
