Job summary

MPI is seeking a Superintendent to lead a $78M ground-up middle school project in Stafford County, VA, with a focus on sitework and field operations. The role oversees on-site construction, subcontractors, and safety while delivering the project on time and within budget.

The successful candidate will manage complex educational construction, collaborate with owners, architects, and consultants, and mentor a growing field team across Northern Virginia.

Qualifications

• Experience as a Superintendent on ground-up construction projects.
• Experience managing K-12, higher education, municipal, commercial, or similar large-scale projects preferred.
• Ability to oversee projects ranging from $30M to $150M+ in value.
• Strong knowledge of construction means, methods, scheduling, and site logistics.
• Proven track record of managing subcontractors and driving project schedules.
• Excellent communication, leadership, and problem-solving skills.
• Experience with significant sitework scopes is highly desirable.
• Ability to work onsite throughout Northern Virginia project locations.

Responsibilities

• Lead all on-site construction activities from groundbreaking through project completion.
• Oversee subcontractors, vendors, and field personnel to ensure project milestones are achieved.
• Manage site logistics, scheduling, safety compliance, and quality control initiatives.
• Coordinate daily with project management teams, owners, architects, and consultants.
• Drive project progress and proactively resolve field-related challenges.
• Ensure projects are delivered safely, on time, and within budget expectations.
• Conduct regular jobsite meetings and maintain accurate project documentation.
• Monitor sitework operations and coordinate critical construction sequencing activities.
• Maintain strong client relationships and represent the company professionally on-site.
• Mentor assistant superintendents and field staff while fostering a positive team culture.
