Position SummaryThe Lead Summer Mentor / Tutor Counselor provides supervision and coordination for Upward Bound summer tutor mentors and supports daily program operations. This role focuses on mentor leadership, communication, and program implementation to ensure a safe, organized, and engaging summer experience for participating high school students.The hourly pay rate is $20Duties and Responsibilities:* Participate in staff orientation. Full participation is a condition of employment.* Supervise Upward Bound tutor mentors during daily summer programming.* Conduct regular check-ins and **weekly meetings** with tutor mentors.* Provide guidance, coordination, and support to undergraduate mentor staff.* Monitor mentor attendance, engagement, and responsibilities.* Support planning and onsite supervision of field trips, workshops, and special events.* Assist with program setup, transitions, and daily operations as needed.* Communicate regularly with Upward Bound staff and administrative leadership.* Enforce Upward Bound expectations, policies, and safety procedures.* Carry out additional duties as assigned by Upward Bound leadership.Qualifications* Upper class college students or graduate students preferred.* Experience working with high school students in tutoring, mentoring, or youth programs.* Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.* Ability to supervise and support a group of college student mentors.* Commitment to supporting low-income and first-generation students.* Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced summer program environment.* Familiarity with Upward Bound and/or TRIO programs is a plus.# **Pay Range Disclosure**The University's pay ranges represent a good faith estimate of what Brandeis reasonably expects to pay for a position at the time of posting.
