Job summary

Ellaway Blues Consulting is seeking a Structural Engineer to lead design and analysis for switchyards and substations on large EPC projects.

You will mentor junior engineers, review complex drawings, and coordinate with internal teams and clients to ensure code-compliant, quality-focused deliverables for construction teams.

This permanent role offers growth in a growing energy sector and requires strong background in ASCE/AISC/NESC standards and familiarity with SAP2000 and MathCAD.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field.
• 5+ years in structural engineering, switchyards/substations.
• Proficient in drawings and protective devices.
• Experience with dynamic foundation and vibration analysis.
• Familiar with ASCE/AISC/ACI/NESC codes.

Responsibilities

• Lead design efforts for substation projects as technical authority.
• Perform complex analyses using current standards and tools.
• Collaborate with EPC teams, manage RFIs, changes, and procurement.
• Review vendor documents to ensure compliance.
• Mentor teammates and promote quality and efficiency.
