Job summary

Electric Power Systems is seeking a Sr. Relay Technician in Riverside, CA to serve as the technical lead for protection and control systems.

You will conduct advanced testing, commissioning, troubleshooting, and manage field teams to ensure safe, reliable operation of substation and industrial controls. Qualified candidates will have 5+ years in the field, hands-on relay experience, and strong communication skills.

Qualifications

• Able to pass pre-employment drug screen.
• Must pass criminal background check.
• Valid driver's license with clean driving record.
• Hands-on experience installing, maintaining, testing, or repairing protective relays in transmission, generation, or distribution substations.
• Knowledge of relay test software.

Responsibilities

• Lead job site safety briefings and enforce safety policies.
• Analyze protection schemes for power circuits and components.
• Install, commission, test and perform functional testing of relay panels, transformers, and circuit breakers.
• Execute advanced end-to-end testing using relay test equipment.
• Read and validate protection schematics and configurations.
• Calibrate and verify performance of electromechanical and microprocessor relays.
• Develop project execution plans and oversee large commissioning projects.
• Prepare comprehensive reports and as-built documentation.
