Job summary

Pike Engineering is seeking a Senior Substation Protection Engineer to lead protection and control design for utility substations, energy storage, and solar projects in Florida. You will mentor engineers and manage design quality, timelines, and budgets while coordinating with multiple stakeholders.

The role requires PE licensure, ABET/EAC accreditation, and extensive experience in protection schemes, SCADA, and project leadership. On-site duties, collaboration, and client liaison are essential.

Qualifications

• 8+ years’ experience as a practicing engineer.
• Bachelor’s degree from an ABET/EAC accredited Engineering Program or equivalent recognized by NCEES.
• Licensed Professional Engineer (PE).

Responsibilities

• Lead protection and control design for substation and transmission projects.
• Oversee schedules, budgets, and a team of engineers and designers.
• Support proposal development, cost estimating, and business development efforts.
• Visit sites to advise on engineering issues during construction.
• Create and implement P&C design processes and QC checklists.
• Collaborate with other disciplines, contractors, consultants, and clients.
