Job summary

ACS Professional Staffing is seeking a Senior Engineer - Substation Physical for a nationwide role. Lead design and execution of complex substation projects, provide technical leadership, and mentor engineers and technicians.

The ideal candidate has a PE license, 12+ years in power systems, and strong expertise in substation physical design, with travel up to 25% to support customers throughout the project lifecycle.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related discipline.
• 12+ years of experience with electric power systems.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license.
• Experience managing complex projects, budgets, schedules, and deliverables.
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
• Travel up to 25% as required.
• Ability to pass background check and drug screening.
• Supervisory or team leadership experience.
• Experience with electric utilities, engineering firms, or system integrators.

Responsibilities

• Serve as a technical expert in substation physical engineering design.
• Provide technical leadership and mentorship to engineers and technicians.
• Research and implement innovative engineering solutions and best practices.
• Lead development and review of project scopes, budgets, and schedules.
• Manage engineering projects through full lifecycle: design to commissioning.
• Create detailed substation physical designs, layouts, BOMs, and estimates.
• Support customers with design, configuration, testing, and implementation.
