Job summary

WSP is seeking a Lead Substation Project Engineer to support projects in Freeport, ME or Foxborough, MA. You will provide high‑level electrical engineering guidance across concept development, detailed design, procurement, construction support, and commissioning coordination for transmission and distribution substations.

You will review technical packages, lead design activities, and collaborate with clients and vendors to ensure safety, reliability, and compliance with industry standards.

Qualifications

Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
7–10 years of post‑education experience in electrical engineering for substation projects.
Authorized to work in the United States without sponsorship.
Strong knowledge of transmission/distribution substation design and construction.
Experience with P&C, SCADA, and telecom interfaces.

Responsibilities

Provide high‑level technical guidance for multi‑site substation projects.
Review and approve substation design packages for accuracy and compliance.
Lead design and engineering work through concept to commissioning.
Coordinate with owners, clients, contractors, and vendors.
Prepare diagrams, member drawings, and technical memoranda.
Lead field visits and ensure safety and QA/QC standards.
