Job summary

Leidos in Michigan is seeking a Lead Substation Engineer to join our team. You will engage in design and implementation across substation physical and protection & control projects, read and create one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics, and grounding drawings, and contribute to BOM checks and QC across the full project lifecycle.

Travel to customer sites and occasional visits to the Walled Lake, MI office are expected; strong communication, leadership, and collaboration skills are essential

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 4+ years of substation design experience.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interact with clients to meet project needs.
• Ability to meet deadlines under pressure and work effectively in a team.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation design and project lifecycle support from scoping to final design and implementation.
• Read and design substation drawings such as one-line, three-line diagrams, schematics, and grounding drawings.
• Create and check BOMs for substation physical and P&C designs.
• Ensure designs comply with NEC minimums and client standards.
