Power System Engineering seeks a Substation Engineer to lead substation design projects while expanding skills in technical engineering, project management, and client collaboration. The role is preferred to be based in Arden Hills, MN, with openness to other PSE offices or fully remote arrangements.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering (preferred but not required).
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or ability to obtain.
• 5+ years of experience in transmission, distribution, or substation engineering.
• Strong knowledge of substation design, protection & control systems, and utility operations.

Responsibilities

• Lead substation engineering projects including brownfield design and protection & control.
• Develop one-line/three-line diagrams, wiring diagrams, and AC/DC schematics.
• Manage projects from design through construction with budgets and schedules.
• Collaborate with internal teams, clients, and contractors for delivery.
• Perform site visits for inspections and quality assurance.
• Provide technical consulting across substation design and utility operations.
