Job summary

WSP USA is seeking a Lead Substation Project Engineer in Burnsville, MN to drive design and execution of complex substations. Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering.
• 7–10 years of post-education experience as an electrical engineer.
• Engineer license required.
• Proficient with electrical engineering principles, design, permitting, and project work.
• Extensive knowledge of infrastructure design and related codes/regulations.
• Experience leading and mentoring junior staff with QA/QC discipline.

Responsibilities

• Guide data collection and analysis for substations, blueprints, GIS data, and procurement pricing.
• Review and approve electrical infrastructure designs for compliance with codes and regulations.
• Apply advanced electrical engineering techniques across project phases from concept to operation.
• Develop and review single-line diagrams, bus layouts, grounding, and relay schemes.
• Plan future-ready designs, equipment sizing, and cabling strategies with safety focus.
• Prepare technical reports, calculations, and presentations for project stakeholders.
