Job summary

ISG is seeking an experienced Senior Physical Substation Engineer in Philadelphia, PA to lead physical HV substation design packages, including GA drawings, bus work layouts, grounding, and conduit routing. You will mentor junior staff and serve as client POC on technical solutions for large transmission projects.

Qualified candidates have a PE license, a BS in Electrical Engineering with a power focus, and 5+ years of substation design experience. Travel to site visits is required as needed.

Qualifications

• Professional Engineer license is required.
• B.S. in Electrical Engineering with power systems focus or related.
• 5+ years in substation physical design with leadership on medium to large projects.
• Experience with grounding analysis software and lighting analysis tools.

Responsibilities

• Develop and review complete physical design packages for HV substations.
• Ensure compliance with IEEE, ANSI, NEC, NESC, NFPA standards.
• Lead design coordination meetings with clients, utilities, and teams.
• Mentor junior engineers and designers with feedback.
• Forecast design hours and support project milestones.
