Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. seeks an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in Substation Design to lead high‑voltage projects for utility, municipal, and industrial clients.

This role requires a PE license and 8+ years of substation experience, with responsibility for layout, protection, and coordination across disciplines. You will mentor junior staff, coordinate with civil and field teams, and ensure designs meet IEEE, NESC, NFPA, and ANSI standards while delivering on schedule

Qualifications

Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering required.
PE license required at hire.
8+ years in substation or power delivery engineering.
Experience with electric utilities and T&D.
Strong leadership and communication skills.

Responsibilities

Lead design of substations (typically 69kV–500kV).
Prepare construction drawings, specifications, and material lists.
Coordinate with protection, control, SCADA, and field teams.
Mentor junior engineers and designers.
Ensure designs comply with IEEE, NESC, NFPA, and ANSI standards.
