Job summary

Hanson Professional Services, Inc. is seeking an experienced Electrical Engineer specializing in substation design to support power delivery projects for utility, municipal, and industrial clients. This senior role requires a PE license and extensive HV substation experience.

You will lead design efforts, coordinate with protection and control teams, and mentor junior engineers while ensuring compliance with utility standards.

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Electrical Engineering.
• PE license required at hire.
• Minimum 8 years in substation or power delivery engineering.
• Experience with electric utilities and transmission/distribution.

Responsibilities

• Lead design of new, expanded, and upgraded substations (69kV–500kV).
• Develop layouts, bus configurations, grounding, raceway, and foundations.
• Perform short‑circuit, relay coordination, and AC/DC design work.
• Prepare drawings, specifications, design reports, and material lists.
• Coordinate with protection, SCADA, and field teams; mentor junior staff.
