Job summary

Black & Veatch is seeking a Lead Transmission Substation Commissioning Engineer to verify equipment commissioning per project contracts and specifications, and to provide technical leadership across protection systems. The role includes directing technicians and other engineers, and ensuring safe, compliant turnover to the client.

Preferred candidates hold NICET or NETA certifications with 8+ years startup experience in power/utility projects.

Qualifications

• OSHA 10 Hour Training.
• All applicants must complete onboarding requirements including background checks and drug screen.

Responsibilities

• Participates in preparation and maintenance of commissioning schedule.
• Plans commissioning activities and milestones.
• Lead Discipline Engineer providing direction to staff and SME in protection systems.
• Review and approve relay test results and commissioning documentation.
• Ensure AC Acceptance testing and proper phasing of voltages and currents.
