Job summary

Tecnadyne designs and builds equipment for demanding subsea environments. We seek an experienced Mechanical Engineer who can own designs from concept through detailed design and into the shop, driving new product development and improving existing products.

You will lead mechanical designs for underwater systems, prepare engineering deliverables, and perform analyses (FEA and hand calculations) to ensure reliability under loads and pressures.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or closely related discipline.
• Approximately 3–8 years of relevant engineering experience owning designs through release.
• Proficiency with 3D CAD tools to create and manage parts, assemblies, and documentation.
• Solid knowledge of GD&T and tolerance analysis and how variation affects fit and function.
• Ability to write clear technical notes, summaries, or reports on design intent and test results.
• Hands-on experience in production or shop environment with machinists/fabricators.

Responsibilities

• Own and lead mechanical designs for underwater systems from concept through detailed models and release documentation.
• Prepare and maintain engineering deliverables for production and field use (prints, BOMs, etc.).
• Perform engineering analysis (hand calculations, FEA) to confirm loads, pressure, and operating conditions.
• Define requirements and lead design reviews and technical discussions for standard and custom projects.
• Support build, assembly, and testing of prototypes and production units on the shop floor.
• Lead root-cause investigations and drive design updates and corrective actions to implementation.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal teams on materials, fabrication methods, and inspection criteria.
• Mentor junior engineers and drive improvements to documentation, release, and processes.
