Job summary

The role requires a BS in Mechanical Engineering and at least 2 years of related experience, with strong skills in FEA and modeling tools.

Qualifications

• BS Degree in Mechanical Engineering or applicable discipline, with at least two years of related experience.
• Focus on detailed mechanical design and offshore operations (subsea running tools, pressure vessels, seals).
• Understanding of cost, profit, and manufacturing, assembly, qualification, and test processes.
• Ability to read, interpret and prepare technical designs and documentation.
• Global teamwork to adapt solutions to an existing product line.
• Familiarity with FEA methods; ability to interpret results (FEA preferred).
• Experience with modeling software such as AutoCAD or NX; ANSYS, Power BI preferred; related standards knowledge.

Responsibilities

• Work in a small team to solve design challenges and develop new products for the subsea drilling line.
• Define attributes, requirements and specifications for new products.
• Engage with the value stream to ensure cost, manufacturing, and operation effectiveness.
• Perform hand-calculations and FEA to support design work.
• Present to customers and multidisciplinary audiences.
• Create prototypes throughout the design process and evolution.
• Own projects, track spend and forecast costs and schedules.
• Execute prototype and final qualification testing in shop/lab environments.
• Report to the NPD Engineering Manager in Subsea Drilling Services Value Stream.
