Job summary

SubSea Craft, a growing maritime technology company, seeks a Mechanical Design Engineer in the United States. You will develop mechanical designs from concept through prototyping, testing, and validation for marine applications.

You will create 3D models and detailed drawings, perform analyses, and collaborate across engineering teams to ensure safe, reliable, and cost-effective solutions for the marine environment.

Qualifications

• Strong problem-solving skills with the ability to identify, analyse, and resolve complex design challenges.
• Proficiency in sketching and the ability to communicate design concepts visually.
• Expertise in 3D modelling software such as Inventor or SolidWorks.
• Knowledge of mechanical engineering principles, materials and manufacturing processes for maritime tech.

Responsibilities

• Conduct detailed analysis of design requirements, specifications, and project objectives to develop innovative mechanical design solutions.
• Create detailed 3D models and 2D drawings of mechanical components ensuring accuracy and compliance.
• Substantiate designs using analysis, FEA, and simulations for marine environments.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to ensure integration with other systems.
• Select materials with corrosion resistance, weight considerations and cost in mind.
• Maintain design documentation and configuration control throughout development.
