Job summary

DeSimone is seeking a Project Manager in Boston or Foxborough to oversee the structural design process from inception to construction, coordinating with clients and design teams. The role focuses on mid- to high-rise buildings and requires leadership of junior staff and BIM technicians, with emphasis on accuracy and timely delivery.

You will manage schedules, budgets, and communications, using ETABS, SAP2000, and RAM for analyses, while mentoring staff and contributing to business development

Qualifications

• Bachelor of Science in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or related field with 10 years of relevant work experience including project management.
• Master’s degree in Civil, Structural, or Architectural Engineering or related field with 8 years of relevant work experience including project management.
• Professional Engineer’s (PE) license.
• Minimum 7 years of experience in performing and supervising the design and analysis of mid to high rise buildings.
• Minimum 7 years of experience utilizing ETABS, RAM, RISA, Rhino, PCA and SAFE.
• Minimum 7 years of experience with wind tunnel testing process and applying wind tunnel loads to the lateral model.
• Proficient in Microsoft Office.
• Extensive knowledge of local and national building codes and design practices.
• Knowledge of standard construction practices and ability to work with contractors.
• Detail-oriented with strong interpersonal, problem solving, and team skills.
• Knowledge of ETABS, SAFE, Rhino, PCA or other similar design tools.
• Ability to perform and supervise design and analysis of mid to high rise buildings using ETABS, RAM, RISA, and SAFE.

Responsibilities

• Lead the structural design and analysis of mid- to high-rise buildings using ETABS, SAP2000, and RAM.
• Develop structural concepts, perform complex engineering analyses, and prepare design criteria for a variety of building projects.
• Oversee project execution, ensuring designs meet building codes, project requirements, and quality standards.
• Review and coordinate structural designs with architects, owners, contractors, and other design team members.
• Review shop drawings and submittals to verify compliance with design intent and safety standards.
• Identify project challenges and guide project teams through implementation.
• Lead client, consultant, and project team meetings as primary technical contact.
• Monitor project schedules, budgets, and resource utilization.
• Prepare technical reports, presentations, and project documentation.
• Mentor and supervise junior engineers and support professional development.
• Assist with proposal preparation, project budgeting, and business development initiatives.
• Build and maintain client relationships while supporting networking and industry engagement.
• Collaborate across disciplines and offices to support project and company-wide goals.
