Job summary

HDR, Inc. seeks a Senior Construction Engineer in California to provide engineering expertise and management oversight for the development and construction of various highway projects.

You will prepare budgets and schedules, oversee personnel and contracts, and ensure QA/QC and field survey execution. Minimum 10 years of construction experience, a California PE license, and proficiency with MS Office, Bluebeam, and estimating/scheduling software are required.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management or closely related field.
• 10 years related experience in construction including estimating, bidding, purchase orders and subcontracts, scheduling, and field engineering.
• Professional Engineer (PE) license or equivalent recognized by the licensing board.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook); Bluebeam and estimating & scheduling software; web-based document collaboration.
• Excellent verbal and written communication skills.

Responsibilities

• Provide engineering expertise and management oversight for development and construction of various quality construction projects.
• Prepare project budgets and schedules.
• Manage personnel matters, workload, consultant service contracts and engineering practices for project delivery.
• Plan, prepare and analyze documents, and manage construction contracts.
• Forecast and track budgets and cash flow for workforce, facilities, and resources.
• Coordinate and manage QA/QC, inspection services, survey and layout in the field.
