Job summary

Jobtailor is seeking a Structural Engineer to lead and oversee structural design projects from concept to completion. You will manage project schedules, budgets, and client communication, coordinating with architects, contractors, and engineering teams.

Responsibilities include geotechnical coordination, foundation design, design with steel/concrete/masonry/wood, preparing documents, reviewing drawings, site visits, RFIs/ITCs, mentoring junior engineers, and ensuring code compliance.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s degree in Structural Engineering or related field (Master’s degree a plus).
• PE licensure in Iowa, Wisconsin, or both.
• Strong background in structural engineering design and project management.
• Experience with steel, concrete, masonry, wood, and foundation systems.
• Strong skills in code review, structural design, and project management.
• Excellent problem solving, critical thinking, and organizational skills.
• Ability to work independently and collaboratively in a fast-paced environment.
• Comfortable working in-office and on-site as needed.

Responsibilities

• Lead and oversee structural design projects from initial concept to completion.
• Manage project schedules, budgets, and client communication.
• Coordinate with architects, contractors, and engineering teams (Civil and MEPT).
• Assist with geotechnical coordination and foundation design.
• Design structural elements using steel, concrete, masonry, and wood materials.
• Prepare design documents and review shop drawings.
• Conduct construction site visits and respond to RFIs/ITCs.
• Mentor junior engineers and provide technical guidance.
• Ensure designs comply with applicable codes and standards.
