Job summary

W3Global is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer (PE licensed in Virginia) to own projects from proposal to construction administration. You will lead design efforts, perform calculations, analyses, and cost estimations for a mix of commercial and residential projects.

The role requires strong AutoCAD skills and proficiency in structural analysis software (Enercalc, RISA or similar). Collaboration with architects and contractors is essential, with onsite work initially and potential hybrid

Qualifications

Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent
Active PE license in Virginia required
Strong experience with AutoCAD
Proficiency in structural analysis/design software (Enercalc, RISA or similar)
Solid knowledge of IBC, IRC, ACI 318, NDS, AISC, AISI
Excellent written and verbal communication skills
Ability to manage projects independently with supervision as needed

Responsibilities

Lead structural engineering projects from proposal through construction administration
Prepare design calculations, drawings, specs, analyses and cost estimates
Perform structural analysis and design for commercial and residential projects
Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs
Conduct periodic construction site observations
Perform specialized structural inspections as needed
Collaborate with architects, designers, contractors and stakeholders
Apply building codes and standards throughout design and construction
