Job summary

W3Global is seeking an experienced Structural Engineer (PE licensed in Virginia) to own projects from proposal to construction administration. You will lead design efforts, perform calculations, analyses, and cost estimations for a mix of commercial and residential projects.

The role requires strong AutoCAD skills and proficiency in structural analysis software (Enercalc, RISA or similar). Collaboration with architects and contractors is essential, with onsite work initially and potential hybrid

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Civil or Structural Engineering or equivalent
• Active PE license in Virginia required
• Strong experience with AutoCAD
• Proficiency in structural analysis/design software (Enercalc, RISA or similar)
• Solid knowledge of IBC, IRC, ACI 318, NDS, AISC, AISI
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage projects independently with supervision as needed

Structural Engineer - PE Licensed | Virginia

We are seeking an experienced Structural Engineer to join our team and take ownership of projects from the proposal phase through construction administration.

What You'll Do

• Lead structural engineering projects from proposal through construction administration
• Prepare structural design calculations, drawings, specifications, design analyses, and construction cost estimates
• Perform structural analysis and design for a variety of commercial and residential projects
• Review shop drawings and respond to RFIs
• Conduct periodic construction site observations
• Perform occasional specialized structural inspections
• Collaborate closely with architects, designers, contractors, and other project stakeholders
• Apply applicable building codes and engineering standards throughout the design and construction process

What We're Looking For

• Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering, Structural Engineering, or equivalent experience
• Active Professional Engineer (PE) license in Virginia - Required
• Strong experience with AutoCAD
• Proficiency with structural analysis/design software such as Enercalc, RISA, or similar
• Strong knowledge of applicable codes and standards, including:
  • IBC
  • IRC
  • ACI 318
  • NDS
  • AISC
  • AISI
• Excellent written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to manage projects independently with appropriate oversight
• Comfortable working onsite initially, with the opportunity to transition to a hybrid schedule over time
